What should a first photo camera have?

I want to take photography next year, and I was wondering if I wanna make it into a hobby, what should my first camera have if I buy one?
 
A good film SLR camera with a lens. You should check with the school or teacher and find out what they will need you to have for the class and go from there.

full manual controls of exposure and focus,

once you get into the craft you will want to tell the camera what to do not the other way around
