Im now 33 weeks pregnant and would love to know the sex of my baby but my doctors due to a new policy told me they cant disclose that. I have heard tho before that youl can tell by the babys heartbeat, ie if it sounds like a train or horses hooves trotting. Can you tell me if this is true or just myth???

since you are 33 weeks , you are going to find out very soon. in the mean time forget about the sex of your baby and just hope it is healthy x x

All stuff like that is just a myth!!!! Only the ultrasound can tell the truth about it and sometimes they are not even right... Sometimes the only truth is when the doc says ITS A____________!!! But good luck

the myth is that if the heartrate is like above 140 its a girl and if its below its a boy ..

its not true the whole time ive been pregnant..ive always had around 158 heartrate and its a boy...

goodluck

I have heard that some hospitals have a policy for not telling you. There are other ways of finding out such as a 4d scan, you should be able to find someone who does it in your area, unfortunately they arnt free, i have heard they are around £100 for the scan but you do get photos and video's of the little one. Luckily enough my hospital let me know but if i couldnt know i would have had to have a 4d scan!!

what?? i dont believe that, maybe they just couldnt find out because you got an ultrasound too late and it was too crowded in your uterus to tell? that is the only reason i can think of that they couldnt tell you, i dont believe that!

The heart rate is definitely just a myth. Your baby's heart rate will naturally fluctuate throughout the pregnancy- sometimes it will be faster, sometimes it will be slower. It is not any indication of gender. The only way for you to know now is to give birth. I would like to know where this doctor is located that has a policy not to tell parents the sex so that I never go there for treatment! That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard! Have you thought about getting a private ultrasound done somewhere else? You would have to pay out of pocket for it, but I can't imagine not knowing the sex of my baby. I would want to get stuff for the baby ahead of time, clothes, bottles, other baby accessories, and I want those things to be pink or blue! You don't have time after the baby is born.
