what scenery should i paint?

i got a canvas a long time ago, but i haven't used it. i have painted on canvases before, but this time i plan to use oil paints. i want to paint a scenery, specifically a something like a desert, like a scene across the highways of the southern california desert. i would like like some links to pics that i could use for inspiration
