My original plan was to do the full 4 year Primary Education course but I am concerned about getting a job afterwards as I have been hearing so much about there not being enough jobs for all the graduates in this field.
I have recently been thinking that I may be better doing a business degree then the PGDE course in Primary Education and if I find it difficult to get a job as a teacher then I have the business degree to use until I can get a teaching job. I think it's all a bit of a last minute panic but I'm finding it really stressful and confusing at the moment!
My main worry about doing the business degree then PGDE Primary Education is that I would be at a disadvantage when it comes to looking for a job and that the applicants with the full 4 year Primary Education degree would have a better chance but surely they wouldn't offer this course unless it was enough to qualify as a good teacher?
I have been asking family and friends but have had so many different reasons for each choice I'm really looking for someone in the profession already to give me some advice!
I am 27 and have been working in an office environment since leaving school. I am married with a mortgage so it's a big step for me going to university and vastly reducing our income so I want to get it right!
Thanks in advance!
