I'd go with an 09 or later RK or RKC. I like the looks of the RKC but wish I had the bags off the RK Standard... I don't care what anyone say's the RK is either a... 1)Standard, 2)Classic, 3) Custom... I wish my classic had the hard bags and the frame of the 09's plus the self adjusting primary etc... There were over 400 changes I believe in the touring models between 08'-09'

My 2010 flhrs came with factory cruise. Sure do like that. And yes moco calls it a standard. I like the look of spokes but a beach to clean. The flhrs has the license under the tail light and the plate lite is in the turn bar. Accessories are limited for the flhrs v the flhrc. The seat takes some getting use to. I have had the leather before and I like the hard bags a lot more. If you plan on changing the rake the hard bags look better. I think the flhx has the right look, I will be considering a inch or two in the front next summer. But then again the whole windshield thing kinda begs that the bike be left the way it is.
Good luck, you wont be sorry no matter which one you decide on they are both great rides.

Just go get a Road King. You'll be happy with either, for all the above listed reasons. It won't be long and you'll have all your own reasons too. Love my locking hard bags, though!

Thanks guys....some great advice there....

I've been checking out the Oregon Craigslist, Ebay, some classified section in the online Portland Newspaper, and all dealers....

..is there another link that would be good for finding used Oregon Harleys????

Thx

Other than looks pretty much the same bike. Just comes down to whether you want spokes, Whitewalls and tube tires and leather bags. If yes the RKC is for you. If not RK is the answer...can't go wrong with either I like the color combos on the RKC and the whitewalls are cool looking until they get dirty. I'm not a fan of tubes and I wanted the hard bags so RK for me.

I like the Classic's. WWW tires, spoke wheels, cruise and I prefer the RKC leather bags on my black 08. On the wife's 07 I plan to add hard bags later but more to complete a "look" on her white/pacific blue then for any other reason.

Kings are a great platform so since you are buying used I would just keep an open mind......you will run into one for sale sooner or later that "grabs" you.

I'm with Trish on this, bought mine in May this year after waffling over it last season, and just couldn't resist the old skool look of the paint. The leather bags are a little more work to maintain, but to my mind the RKC is a perfect 50's look with the Aqua/antique white paint scheme.

The 103 upgrade kit is on my list tho...
