use a cannon bal sinker and look for wieght release at your tackle shop
they are designed to release the wieght with a slow steady pull if snaged the draw back is you will loose your sinker but you will get you lures or hooks back, or look into drift rigs or droper rigs, both work very well and use pencil lead or smaller 1/4-3oz dipsey dropper lead- they look like a tear drop and are cheap as hell at walmart
