Christianity in the USA? I think the republicans are taking a different approach to this election. They normally aren’t as obvious in their appeal to the religious fanatics but this year, they are unashamedly appealing to the Christian fanatics with their anti-abortion stance and the selection of Palin as VP. The democrats seem to be taking the ‘we are religious but we’re not as religious as them’ approach. So if democrats get elected, will it be a sign that the USA is progressing out of an era where organized religion was too dominant and alternatively, if the republicans get elected, will it mean that the USA wants to regress back to a time where organized religion has more power? Or, do you think religion has nothing to do with it and the main issues are race and gender?

In your little world, everyone is plotting to destroy freedom, gender equality, and common sense. In the real world, there is an admittedly slow-going movement to end all that crap.

I'm voting that ticket, as an Atheist. I prefer people who offer lip-service to the religious right over idiots who think that everyone should make the same amount of money. Besides, under Obama, I'd lose at least an extra 22k a year.
