I'm writing a paper about water conservation & desert landscapes. Specifically, I'm interested in how the physical experience of thirst may lead people to prefer green plants and grass over desert foliage because there's something refreshing about traditional green plants.
I just can't put my finger on a good way to link green/luscious/verdant ideas to actual physical thirst and refreshment. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The more concrete an example the better. Quotations are ideal, but even words associated with both concepts would be useful.
