what Photoshop works best for creating logos, banners and stuff for bands?

Hell, ive been into promoting and creating headers ect. for bands on myspace ect. but what version of photoshop is best for that sort of stuff? and also how wouldi go about getting it?

I think i saw on Adobe that you could rent a version for a year for like 20$ thats awesome. what version are best for that price?
