What Phone Should I Get From Europe?

A buddy of mine is in Europe this summer and he has access to a plethora of GSM phones which aren't available here. I don't follow up on the technology closely enough, but what would be some recommendations from you folks on what phone(s) would be worth buying there and bringing over to the US?

I'm not really into smart phones and I like smaller, sleeker phones (I have a SLVR right now). Currently I have him looking at the Samsung SGH-X820 and the Nokia 8800; both of these phones are available here, I know, but I may get them cheaper there.

Any suggestions? Links to said phone will help as well

Maybe start by looking at GSMARENA.com and Phonescoop.com. There are tons of choices available. For price and features I would recommend the Sony Ericsson K750i.
