What phone should I buy?

Hi
Either one of these HAS to be pay as you go even if I have to get it unlocked.

What should I buy, a BlackBerry Pearl or wait until the iPhone is released.

I could however but the Blackberry and then sell it along with some other things and buy the iPhone. I really need help. THanks very much.

As far as I know, you can't do blackberry connect using prepaid since you typically need a pda/data plan for push email.

According to reports, the iPhone will be sold on contract only and it's rumored that it'll have special rate plans to accomodate it's data needs, which should rule out pay as you go.

Oh and neither of them will support your hotmail email address for push email. You'll have to use a web browser to access it unless hotmail offers pop3 service

I am pretty sure that hotmail does support POP3, I read it somewhere. Also could I not unlock my Blackberry Pearl. My bother got a K800i the one that Bond uses. It was only avalible on contract but he bought an unlocked version and now uses Pay As You Go.
 
It's not a matter of unlocking, the point of a blackberry is push email, that's the primary pull of the device and I'm pretty sure push email won't work for pay as you go. If you aren't looking to use the push email, then I don't see why you'd get a blackberry.
 
actually hotmail does not have pop3 because they msn sold it to qwest when they accuried it and the only way to get pop3 is to use a 3rd party provider that charges $5 a month to push the email.

you can use the pearl as a pre paid phone but it's work work well if you want to use emails. you need a unregistered pin to make an account with a data plan provider in order to set up your pop3 email accounts so they can be pushed to the BB
