I am buying both a new notebook computer and a new phone to take with me to Germany where I will be working during the World Equestrian Games in Aachen. While in Germany, I need to be able to:
communicate by phone with clients in both Germany and the USupload photos from my computer to the internet at a reasonably fast rate (lots of jpeg files here) while traveling throughout Germanysurf the internet and receive/send emails from my computer from almost anywhere in Germany
I expect I'll need at least a tri- preferably a quad-band phone, and I plan to purchase a SIM card for either vodofone or t-mobile service while in Germany.
We're talking a professional photographer here, so I do not need a camera on the phone. However the following are important:universal coveragegood connectivitygood reception (including incoming/outgoing voice qualityease of connecting to computerrapid data transfer computer to phone to internetease of use (keypad design, screen menus, etc)portability (light weight)ruggedness and durability (we're talking about horseshows here!)
And just in case I have the option, I prefer a slider or flip phone.
This phone will be dedicated to use for this purpose, and will probably not be used in the US as we have Verizon service at home in California and my husband is not interested in switching to Cingular or t-mobile for our family plan.
Hopefully you can point me to the right phone for this purpose, or at least the right series of phones. Is it realistic to expect to get a good quality phone for this purpose for US$200+??
