I was raised to leave 15% (more if the service was better) but my boss told me that in the past few years that it's been raised to 20%? In these times of economic turmoil I'm confused as to why it would be raised. I'm not saying that I'm right and my boss is wrong, I'm just wondering how much do you leave, and did the percentage officially go up to 20% and I missed it?
I'm a waitress at a local pizza shop. The average bill is $25.00.
My boss said that everyone should always tip 20% now that the "tipping has gone up" ?
I'm honestly happy if I get 15% Most customers in there don't tip more than that.
