What percentage of U.S. citizens would voluntarily join the military?

There are approximately 144 million people in the United States of military age (18-44). Of those, 120 million are considered fit for military service.

There are about 1.5 million active in the military, and an equal number in the reserves.

Since the U.S. military is all volunteer and hungry for recruits, it's fair to assume that everyone that would voluntarily join the U.S. military already has. Which is about 2.5% of the eligible population.
