I am in the market for a new car and I would like to buy a mid-90s Honda Civic. Unfortunately, my price range limits me to Civics with more than 100k miles. Hondas have a reputation for longevity, but that depends a lot on the care put into it. I want to make sure that I'm getting one that has been well-cared for and that I won't be tricked into buying a lemon.
I'm not much of a car person (yet) so I need some guidance. What car parts should have been replaced before 100k mi? What parts are likely to need replacing soon after? Timing belt, transmission, etc?
Thanks!
