What other countries, aside from the United States of America, offer a free education?

Also, do other countries allow illegal immigrant children to attend their public (free) schools?

Also, yes I know nothing is actually "free" that it is paid for by the tax payers. But in the USA you don't have to pay taxes to send your child to school.
Oldman - I also do not have children and pay crazy amounts of taxes. Although I can say that where I live the public schools are excellent.

Actually its worse than you think. Generally speaking, I
have to pay taxes on any property I own for school funding
whether I have children in school or not. Not only do I have
to pay those taxes, but I have to pay them to the city, county
and state in which I reside. I really don't object to the
requirement for the public funding of schools per se but
I'm not impressed by what I get for my dollars. I have
friends who teach in the public education system and
these individuals have to work 12 to 14 hours a day and
they don't get compensation for the overtime hours. They
frequently have to buy supplies for their students out of
their own pockets because the students are living in
poverty and the schools do not provide supplies.
I believe that the education system is one of the
most debilitating elements for the minds of the people
who will be on the market in a few short years.
