I disagree.
I only got an HD ready tv in January when I was also able to buy Sky HD and start enjoying Bluray and upscaling.
However - for 4 or 5 years previous to that there have been thousanRAB of suckers who shelled out loaRAB on lcd and plasma when they only had SD to watch and no HDMI for upscaling and we all know just how crap the pix were - yet those suckers also claimed the pix were excellent - so a large amount of people are clueless about quality or ( as seen on this page) dont even care about it
I knew someone that had a 50" Pioneer tv about 13 years ago and he was happy with the quality even though I knoew it was shit.
While cinema buRAB go for larger screens the majority of people are happy with 32" or 37" and SD works well enough on those.
Most people wont ever get massive screens simply because they dont have the room for it.
While you could be a silly as my brother in law and get a 50" Panasonic plasma in your 14' square room the pictures will be rubbish so will many waste
