What old cartoon am I thinking of?

When I was little I used to watch an animated film (made in the 70's or 80's I think) that seemed to revolve around Greek mythology, or maybe it was just mythology in general. All I remember is there was a young man who got separated from his lover and had to go on a quest to find her. He goes through several different stories, including one where a hunter spies on a woman bathing in a river and she puts a curse on him that makes him into a stag which his hunting dogs go after. Then there were three blind witches who all shared one eyeball. I also remember the protagonist finding himself in some sort of candy land, only to discover that everything tastes super spicy. The movie ends with the story of the sun god's son, who stole his chariot and ended up catching on fire (these stories all pretty much end badly for the main character). The song "Your Love Keeps Lifting Me Higher and Higher" plays in the end. Pretty weird cartoon, does anyone know what this might be?
