I am about to get two of these 12" subs but I am a little confused as to what ohms they are. On the website I want to order them from it says this for the ohms.

2.5” 4 ohm 4-Layer Black Aluminum Dual Voice Coil

Could someone explain that to me
also they have the same sub in a different color with this as the ohms

2.5" 2 Ohms 4-layer black aluminum dual voice coil
ok i was just trying to make sure i understood it right since it was a dual voice coil thanks alot

The 4 Ohm version can be wired in parallel for a 4 OHM load
since the 4 ohm DVC is technically an 8 OHM subwoofer. 2x4 ohms since its 4 OHMS a voice coil
or it can be wired in parallel for a 1 OHM load
The 2 OHM version would be a bit cheaper to power since they can be powered at 2 ohms and it technically is a 4 OHM subwoofer 2x2OHMS per voic coil
but if you wanna run it on a 1 OHM capable amplifier, either of these will work at 1 OHM Personally i would go with the 2 OHM and power it @ 2 OHMs' since the power is a bit more stable and cleaner.
a wiring chart for HOW TO wire them can be found at http://www.the12volt.com/
