What news story of the year mostly touched you...?

It can be anything from politics, local news, or stuff to do with celebrities. Since I can't remember anything to do with local news, I will just say two celeb news that was sad. The death of Heath Ledger (major fan of him here) and the murders of Jennifer Hudsons family members (extremely sad; all my love to her).

It's been quite a year. The story that touched me deeply is the Caylee Anthony case.
