What new phone should I get?

I currently have the Blackberry Storm, and in case you don't know, it is probably the worst phone in the history of cell phones. I recently worte to Verizon and sort of demanded that they give me a new phone. After going back and forth a couple times, I got them to agree to let me renew my contract now (a year and a half early) so that I can get a new phone at the discounted 2 year price.

So I just wanted to see what people would recommend I get. I definitely want a smart phone. I was thinking about getting the droid phone...but wanted to see what my internet peoples would recommend. I really just want to make sure that I don't get a phone that is gonna have problems with freezing and slowness, which is about all I get with my storm. So any recommendations you would have I would greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance
 
when you search the internet you can find all kind of stories, the DROID is GREAT and the DROID is HORRIBLE, you might end up even more confused than when you started. The best thing you did was to post your question here at CELL PHONE FORUM, you'll get some straight opinions, but in the end you'll have to decide what cell phone to purchase.

For starters √erizon is the nations best wireless service provider in the country, great customer service, and the biggest most powerful company in the business. As far as picking a cell phone you'll have to decide your priorities of what you expect from your cell phone.

My cell phone is The DROID, i think its great for my want and needs, i don't use it for business purposes, i don't use it for music or to watch tv shows/movies. i don't depend on it for emails but i do use and have a GMAIL account. My priorities are making and receiving calls, texting, camera/video, GPS/Maps, some internet surfing, and some really cool low priority capabilities.

The DROID is an open phone... it will do anything base on a Application, whatever someone imagination can put into an App, the DROID will do it.
