I totally agree with you. I didn't like it

I really liked "the holiday", I watched it, at least, 3 times ;)

Basic: The twist was completely unexpected!
Signs: Mainly because I had no idea what to expect of it. I thought it was going to be one of those "Are they or aren't they real?" I didn't think I'd actually see aliens in it. Basically an awesome movie.

The 1 i'm thinking of right now is The Exorcism of Emily Rose. I was expecting a horror movie, nothing more.but after watching it..it just made me feel so spiritual..i think that's the best way to explain it lol

The movie that surprise me is the "Exorcist".the movie. When I was a child I watched the "The exorcist "starring linda blair as the child possessed by the demons. Its not make me surprise but makes me afraid because of the demonic act when the child is possessed. The "Exorcist II and Until 2004, another prequel come out, Exorcist: The Beginning. I want to watch it again.

Lord of the Rings: My friend had to drag me to the theatre to see this one because I most certainly did not want to go and see it. I remember sitting there at the end of it and thinking "great, now I have to see the other two aswell". As it turned out, the trilogy is one of my all time favourite movies.

Napoleon Dynamite: I had read so many positive reviews on this one so I did not hesitate when I bought it. I still can't believe that I paid money to waste two hours of my life on it. It's just so incredibly stupid! I have considered watching it again to see if I missed something or just didn't understand it because nearly everyone else seems to love it, but just the thought of watching it again offends my DVD-player.

Babel: I had so much expectations on this one and it just didn't deliver. It's not bad, it's just not as good as I had hoped.

Atonement: I expected a romantic movie in the same style as "Pride & Prejudice". It turned out to be completely different and I loved it.

Well, definitely The Others with Nicole Kidman. Man, that movie took my head for a spin. As well as What Lies Beneath with Michelle Phieffer and Harrison Ford.

The Day After Tomorrow, exaggerated tremendously. It was okay, not a movie I'll recommend.

Spider-Man 2, freaking rules! I went back and saw a second time. That movie is great!

LOTR:The Return Of The King, left me in awe. Never have I seen a movie so spectacular. I saw it three times in the theaters. The whole trilogy is just amazing!

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, was really good. I liked it a lot.

Van Helsing, awesome!

Chronicles of Riddick, great movie! Way better than Pitch Black.

The Grudge, cool ass film. Very different from The Ring. More interesting.

The Ring, sucked to me. I didn't like it.

I didn't buy the DVD because I figured I would be dissapointed as I was with Saved! which I didn't buy, thank God.

I'll see it someday to find out what the fuzz is all about.

Reeker First because it wasn't that bad, and second because I STILL CAN'T believe I didn't figure it out. It was so obvious... They even tell you what's going on countless times and yet I was going "huh?" by the end. So obvious, dude, so obvious. Motel Halfway??? Are you kidding me? I suck for not realizing it... Eh.

I thought it would be a real guy movie but I really liked it and I like how they filmed it. It's one of those I like to put in on a Sunday afternoon.

My sentiments exactly  And confirmates, the amazing talent that Nicole has  She's amazing, thank God for her divorce with Tom Cruise  We finally got to see her without being his shadow, and showing her talent

I heard a few people not liking Chasing Liberty so I wasn't expecting much when a few friends and I went to see it one night, but, we ended up totally adoring it. While it wasn't overtaxing, didn't make you jump or want to vomit at the childless antics of so called comedies and horrors or put you to sleep because it had so many special effects and no story, it was charming and easy to watch. It's what movies should be about: entertaining you for a few hours. We loved it anyway and I've seen it four times since

There Will Be Blood- I thought it would be boring and nothing special but it was the complete opposite. It's actually one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Welcome to the boards!

I watched Donnie Darko years ago because of the hype and I don't remember it! lol I watched it but I don't remember any of it whatsoever. One of these days I'll give it another try. Some people say it's really good.

Pride & Prejudice b/c i thought i was going to hate it b/c of the way they talked and i thought it would be boring!

now its my fav film of all time!

Smokin Aces - It wasn't great. But there was something about this movie that I really liked. I was sitting there, thinking, "well, this is not what I expected" but somehow loving it. I can't wait to see it again.

Hollywoodland - It didn't work for me. I was bored out of my head. I rented this over "A Good Year" and I'm still kicking myself for that. There was so much praise, and that amazing cast, that I gave it a go and was so excited about it. But, boo me. :( Big dissapointment.

The Prestige - I expected a great movie. But it was a GREAT movie. Man, that's a good feeling. I was just surprised at how everything was so amazingly played, directed, acted, edited, etc, etc.... :sigh:

 There were a few things that made me chuckle like the "auto pilot", but overall, I couldn't stand it. Maybe I have a bad sense of humor.

:look:

That's one of my surprises too. I saw it in the theater with a group of friends, and had no clue going in what it was about. We just saw it because we were bored and had some time to kill. I think it's one of the best scary films I've watched. One of the only actually.

hmm.. well The Chainsaw Massacre surprised me a lot.. i never expect how violence that story,,.. it makes my heart jump huh!!!

hey pretty new to the threads but one movie that caught me by surprise was donnie darko i strayed away from it because of all the hype but on a whim i picked it up and was surprised how great it was!
