I am writing an essay on how women faced issues on gaining equality with one of the main challenges being lack of power. We could argue that it was because men had Congressional power and women did not have the vote, and this is partly true, but it started in the home. When a man said, jump, she asked, "how high." He wanted dinner, she had it ready. I was thinking about incorporating Pleasantville as a pop culture reference but it wasn't deep enough. Any suggestions?
