What movies/film/media/etc display the value of family?

'The Outsiders' :)

The Curtis Family consist of 3 brothers (Darrel, Soda Pop, Ponyboy) trying to hold their family together after the deaths of their mom & dad, the year before. The older brother, Darrel, had to let go his dreams of becoming a pro football player in order to go to work and raise his 2 younger brothers, Soda Pop & Ponyboy. Soda Pop also had to take on a part time job in order to help out the Curtis family. Darrel has a hard time balancing being a good brother & a newly parental guardian. This causes conflict, mostly between he and the youngest, Ponyboy. They have many disagreements trying to get the 'right family balance'. When Ponyboy falls asleep in the park and comes home late, Darrel knocks him down and he runs away. Later, it takes a great tragedy to finally bring the balance this non-traditional family needs to be functional. Through love, patience, death, tears, rage, heartbreak & pure adrenaline - they do discover they are a very valuable family. It's not just the 3 of them that makes up their family, but also the friends they have. :)
