In the same vein as the "Animated films of our childhood" thread, but without the resolution.
I have vivid memories of one particular animated movie that I saw when growing up, but I can't remember the name! It's driven me crazy off and on, and today I will (with your help!) hopefully put this enduring mystery to rest.
When: It's old enough that substantial internet searching has gotten me nowhere. I'd guess it was made in the 80s or early 90s.
Description: This will all sound terribly vague, but here goes: The main character is a girl. She has a father, I think. She also has some sort of smaller pet-type creature (a unicorn?) with the ability to fly/jump very far. The antagonist is a witch with the power to turn people into wood, creating generic wooden bodies that she uses to build a fortress. I *think* that she uses some sort of wand to do this, but I'm not sure. I don't remember why the girl is trying to stop her, but I believe at one point she is turned into wood on top of her father's also-transformed body.
And it isn't "The Last Unicorn."
Anyone have any clue? I will be eternally grateful if someone solves this for me. Thanks!!
