Even tho I am not a big fan of ricers what you need to do is do the full exhaust. Headers and Exhaust are good. DC Sports headers and Tanabe Medallion exhaust system so you dont have much of a ricer sound to it. and then here you decide what you wanna do. Boost it or all motor. I recommend all motor because it responds better when you hit the gas pedal and you aint go0tta wait for the boost from a turbo. Or you can go with a supercharger as well which i think is better than a turbo.
If you do all motor you just build the bottom end and the head (camshaft, cam gears, pistons, retainers, etc.)
If you boost it. you will need better internal as well and low compression pistons and all tht good stuff. The downside to a turbo is you gotta wait for the rpm so the turbo kicks in. and you need a turbo timer and all the right gadgets for that, plus it requires good maintenace.
The supercharger is also good way to go because it uses belts and pulleys and it starts boost as soon as you turn on a car. so from 700 rpm to 9000 rpm it works. the thing with superchargers is that it has most of its power in the mid rpm levels where the turbo is mostly high rpm levels. But the supercharger required little to no maintenace.
Whatever you decide you are going to require better clutch, flywheel and if you are seious bout big power a strong tranny or else youll tear the tranny apart.
Also if you boost your car you dont require stronger internas but you will only be able to run really low boost. no more than 8 psi or else youll blow your engine. and 8 psi wont get you much horsepower..
also you wont only need engine mods youll need right suspension as well. so look into tht and not only lowering kits you need coilovers trust me. and big brake kit will be handy. also youll need really good tires. pirellis are great. I also used BF Goodrich G force tires.
O and for the internals and parts like that i would recommend using Skunk2Racing products. I use them on my sti and i have a daily driven 500 awhp car. no problems or anything.
exhaust: tanabe

C sports
Pistons: JE pistons
Other internals: Skunk2racing or crower
Turbo: Turbonetics, GReddy, HKS
