What might cause my night terrors?

I'm 13. I don't eat before I go to bed. I don't read or watch scary things often. I run around a lot. My mother did just have cancer but It's gone away and been gone about a year. I get horrible images in my head and if I don't draw it on a piece of paper then I see that picture in my dream. Someone please tell me what could be wrong with me.
