I have a pet fish which jumped out of the water in my back yard. I don't know how long it had been out of the water for, but the water mark underneath the fish was still wet when I picked it up and put it back in the water. My fish is a very big koi. It's about 30 to 35cm.
It's back in the water now and breathing, but it's floating on its side. Its body isn't moving, but its gills and fins are. I'm scared that it might have sustained some injuries when it hit the concrete, since the fall was pretty high for a fish. How would I know if something will affect its ability to recover completely? Is it very serious? Would I need to contact someone to check on it or give it treatment?
