What materials should I use to make a FAST FOOD SCULPTURE?

I have to make exaggerated french fries, burgers, coke cans, etc in 3D. I'm not sure what materials to use to make them. They will be part of a larger sculpture but this is my first sculpture ever so I really need some advice..

Any suggestions? Something relatively easy.. not clay and stuff because I wouldn't know how to harden it
 
If this was me I would consider either using old painted boxes and foam rubber, or papier mache. Unless you can sew or knit, which would also be really cool.
