Not so much stealth but how to be more aware of your balance and weight distribution and how to move. Tai Chi is a good example of this and is why it is best practiced for beginners on a hard, flat surface rather than uneven ground. Traditional Japanese and Okinawan martial arts also stress this and how to place your foot when doing certain things and walking on rice paper for instance without causing any noise or breaks in the paper which I have seen demonstrated in Japan. A student when doing kata or cross decks for instance who plops their foot down tells you that they are moving incorrectly and don't have their weight distribution and balance under their control and are shifting and moving their balance incorrectly. The implication is that you are more easily taken advantage of then by your opponent. For some things you go heel-toe while for others you go toe-heel and others you move your foot also in a circular motion, barley picking your foot up off the floor and then setting it down flat as you move to better control your balance and weight distribution. So it is not so much for steath but instead for a person to better control their weight and balance while moving.
