What martial art should I take?

I'm 16 and did Western style Boxing for a couple of months and really liked it (but that was a couple of years ago.) Now I am really flabby and rudimentary , and cannot do boxing because there are no gyms around my area any more, but I still want to do a martial art.
I want to know if it is too unpunctual for me to start some sport, and if it is not too late what martial sports would I be better off doing? I have pretty big legs that are somewhat mesomorphic but still a bit fat too. I was mainly considering judo, kickboxing, etc. I need to know what other martial sports there are that I might be ok in. I want to compete as well, but since sports like judo are technical, I was also wondering if the competitions would be based on skill level or belt grade, or just weight and age divisions.
