What makes you sigh in disappointment during films?

When the killer is revealed far too early in the film rather than keeping you guessing till near the end of the film."All The Boys Love Mandy Lane" springs to mind.

The "I'm not scared of anything. I'm a real man" line which is followed by a wasp flying around him and then the man runs off screaming. It's been done so many times with different objects. Or when the guy tries to impress the girl but then walks into or trips over something.

The guy or girl that totally sucks at the sport they play. But somehow they find themselves playing in the final & they get that all important win for the team

Sure it's the same for other cities too
but when something American is filmed in London it seems there is only one road through the capital and you have to drive past Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Bucking Palace no matter where you're going..

Also kiRAB in films who you just know are going to save the day at some point. :(

Couples in bed together. The woman can walk around naked but if the bloke has to get out of bed then he has to take the sheet with him. Argh!!!

First of all, best thread ever. Some real brilliant one liners.

1) Those red phone boxes from the 1950s which are magically on every corner in Britain.
2) The angry Latino women with a gun and an attitude.
3) Whispering to sound deep and meaningful.

When someone jumps or is thrown through a glass window without receiving so much as a scratch. A crime even the supposedly "realistic" Bourne series is guilty of.

The main man and women always get together.

Also in comedies and romances where the lover walks in on him in an unfortunate situation leaving the women upset blah blah. Way overused and boring.

-Out of place sex montages. Like as soon as a sex scene shows up, the editing gets choppy and "erotic".

-Gay panic. When a straight character is assumed to be gay or winRAB up in a 'gay' situation and then freaks out about it.

-When a preview basically shows you the whole movie.

-Anytime a movie doesn't feature Jessica Alba's butt.

This isn't something that makes me disappointed but it is something that i find bizarre.

Why is it when someone is flying a plane & the fuel gauge starts going down. They seem to think by tapping the glass covering the fuel gauge several times. The guage will start going up again?.

1) What's that strange and scary sound coming from the cellar?

I know, I'll stay partially clothed and go to investigate without telling anyone, and
without any actual means of defence.

Damn it I will just scream loudly! :D

And 2) Yes, it's special makeup.

I can romp the night away in full make up but still it will be perfectly
gorgeous in the morning - no panda eyes or smears on the pillow!

It's why I don't watch modern horror films, they are so predictably boring; with the emphasis on blood, cheap titillating thrills and so many knock off copy cats.

Give me the original and still the best - Bring on the Evil Dead :D

It can make sense when the needle is supposed to be going the other way, but got stuck. A tap might free it so it shows the true reading. Because it works sometimes, it's not too unreasonable to try it even in situations where it can't help.

"Telephone Idiocy" - Someone hangs up on the character, which senRAB them into a spiral of dumbness. The character then shouts "HELLO??? ARE YOU STILL THERE???" half a dozen times and if using an old style rotary phone will repeatedly tap the 'hang up' notches on the base unit - like that will magically resurrect the call, rather than...I dunno... disconnect it perhaps!?.

Bad guys, when they get the chance to kill the hero of the film, they don't take out a gun and shoot him with one shot, NO! They have to concoct an evil murdering torture device which they switch on and then leave the room for. Yes Chubby Broccolli, I mean YOU!

The whole of Gangs of New York.

&

Cheesiness in movies, like most of Bruce Willis' dialogue in Armageddon, and the slow-mo American flags waving in the wind with American honourable army music like in Medal of Honor, or Metal Gear Solid 2.
