jokes are just for here and there moments. as a comedian you wouldn't use jokes. if you listen to any of the good ones (not necessarily the famous ones) they have great stories. the even funnier comedians are the ones that can make you feel part of the joke, for example george lopez talks a lot about how he saw how hispanic kids were raised or how latin families do things, and if you are latin you can relate if you were raised that way. i was so i consider him funny. other guys make fun of themselves or their own race or whatever that deals with them. everyone has their own style.
