What make-up should I use for an emerald green prom dress?

I know NOT to use green eye shadow, and looking at other questions, many people recomment black and silvers.

However, I have fair skin, and isn't black and silver to harsh against fair skin?

The jewel-detail on my dress is silver.

Anyway, I had my make up done at Macy's once, and she told me not to do smokey-eye kinds of things with my fair skin, and instead she used different pastel colors, and it looked really pretty.

What are your ideas?
I would like to add that the Macy's I went to is 3 and a half hours away.

I live in a small town.
 
I would say go with what you did with the makeup artist since you already saw it on you and liked it!! have fun!!!!
 
either go do it at macy's again or a white/ yellow like a gold or a plain light white
