I'm trying to find this out For my Country report at school,

What Major events/wars happened in Englands history.

Rember that Britain is a whole different country than England. England is a country within a country.

Thanks,
Amanda
All periods just need a few items to put in an essay like ten in wars and ten in events. Thanks!

England's history covers over 2,000 years. That's an awful long time.

Major conflicts would include:
- the Roman conquest under Julius Caesar;
- the Danish invasion (resulting in the Danelaw);
- the Norman conquest (Battle of Hastings, 1066);
- the Hundred Years' War with France;
- the Wars of the Roses;
- the defeat of the Spanish Armada (1588 - naval battle);
- the defeat of Charles I (followed by Cromwell & the Commonwealth);
- the blitz in London during WWII.

Major events would include:
- the Battle of Hastings (1066) and the Domesday Book;
- the signing of the Magna Carta under King John (1215);
- the Tudor dynasty;
- the Elizabethan era (1558-1603);
- the Commonwealth and the Restoration (17th century);
- the Industrial Revolution (1850s);
- the Victorian era (late 19th century);
- the rise and fall of the British Empire;
- the independence of India (1947) and other former dominions;
- modern-day England (socialism, race & class divisions).
