What lesson did Obama miss by not serving in the military?

Even drunken sailors know to spend their OWN money.
I doubt that an Liberal elitist education in a left-leaning institution which promotes pacifism and anit-war can produce an objective Commander-In-Chief.

There are too many lessons to list here. I served one term in the military and by doing so, I have a much greater appreciation of how it works and the sacrifices that are paid by our heroes.

How can you lead something you never served in?

That's why it made sense to Obama to put the guy who ran AT&T in charge of General Motors. He himself stated he knew nothing about cars.

Within five years GM will be defunct.

There are many lessons that military experience can teach a young person. However, those lessons CAN be learned from other experiences.

There is no ONE lesson that the military teaches that cannot be learned from somewhere else. Furthermore, there are some lessons that graduating with a Master's degree in Law from Harvard can teach that the military cannot.

Oh, and there are drunken sailors that will happily spend other people's money.

While I'm not a BHO fan I do not think the military is for everyone and given his public side of his personality I believe that he missed what many people learn in the military

The KISS method

Keep It Simple Stupid

Example a 1000 page health care bill that no one - and I mean no elected official can explain

the lesson where any idiot can tell you what to do,and give orders, but it takes a real fool to follow that idiot, and obey those orders..

0bama has never learned military philosophy, tactics, principals, loyalty, team effort, logistics, espree de corps, or traditions. He fails to understand that military loyalty is to the Constitution, and it is to this, they remain loyal.

Like his democratic predecessor before him, he still ignores Navy/Marine tradition of something so simple as saluting. When has anyone ever seen Navy or Marine personnel salute without head cover, yet everytime this bonehead disembarks Marine Corps One, he is bare headed yet still returns the posted Marine guards salute. This is a violation of Navy/Marine policy. The person being saluted, yet without head cover, should give a verbal acknowlegment such as, Good morning, etc., not a salute. As a civilian, he is not required to return a salute under any conditions. As CIC, he is still a civilian, does not wear a uniform, and therefore is not held to these standards. Nor should he ignore protocol and tradition, by establishing his own set of rules.
