What led you away from GOD and to the Gay Lifestyle choice?

I know most of the gays don't agree that their way is a lifestyle choice, and this is OK, but I believe it is because the Bible tells us it is and the Bible is the word of GOD.

What is your take on these things? Have you asked GOD to help you renounce the gay life?

GOD bless all of you-

Captain Art Griego

Retired commercial airline pilot (24 years in the business), Evangelical Christian, single (NOT gay)
Ezekial 16: 49.1-50.3 (The Conclave Bible)

And this daughter, overfed and unconcerned, cast her gaze downward, and sayeth she from the mouth of GOD as first spoken by GOD through Moses, said the sister to the brother of Sodom:

And man shall not lie with another man, sharing the carnal desires of his loins with that man, be he one or many. This is impure and unchaste, haughty and detestable. GOD will do with these sufferers of this malady as He has sees to be justice.
Everyone: I'm not trying to be offensive. I'm trying to go straight to all of you for information on what it is to be gay.

I turned gay because I didn't want to raise children....they're too short and they talk too much. It was my choice to be first born and male. It was my choice to be Italian and Catholic. God is so sweet to give me so many choices in life. God bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is NOT a lifestyle or a choice. Believe me, I've tried dating the opposite sex, and it never worked. What's a lifestyle anyway?

If you want to believe a 2000 year old book rather than what is apparent in the real world, fine. I was a church member for 22 years and not once in that time did I see any evidence of god - rather the reverse, as church people were the nastiest I'd ever known.

First of all the bible is not the word of god but the words of men who called themselves Prophets, which sounds like profit which is why they wrote the book in the first place.

"Lifestyle". What a useless descriptor. There is NO SUCH THING as a monolithic "gay lifestyle". We have a bar culture. We have "Camp". These things are not "lifestyles". They are coping mechanisms. They are historical responses to shared oppression. And you don't have to go far to find gay christians.

The whole drive and dream of the movement has been a kind of assimilation. Most of us want to conduct our relationships like straight folks do. Hence the Marriage Equality drive. Two things stand in the way of this. 1.We ARE fundamentally different. 2. Opposition in the greater culture.

Much as we might not like to admit it, we just are not exactly like straight folks. Not that we are in any way deficient or unfit or unable to maintain long term monogamous relationships or unable to raise kids. We turn the fundamental sexual power dynamic on its head. This is the most subversive thing about us. We cannot and will not accept inequalites predicated on sex role stereotypes simply as a matter of course. Because of who we are we have to THINK about our relationships to one another, rather than falling into preselected parts to be acted out according to some ancient script.

And for better or worse we have a long legacy of oppression that is not easy to shake. Nor should we necessairly. But it does lead to a lot of dammaged lives. Alcholism and depression and suicide are often the products of this legacy.

Again. This is not "lifestyle". Would you chalk up your fundamental sense of yourself as a christian as simply a "lifestyle choice" ? Or count it as part of your identity ?

You believe something you don't even know if the person who supposedly said it really did exist instead of like thousands of people who are actually alive and tell you what the real deal is ?

Come on.. There's nothing to be ashamed of, and if God doesn't approve, then just ask him why HE made us this way. 'Cause we're all his creatures right ?

I am a christian and i am bi
the bible also says that god is everyone's friend not just striaght peoples

Please don't post offensive stuff here like this.

How would you like it if someone told you that being heterosexual/straight and Xtian are all lifestyle choices and that you're going to hell for being all of these?

I'm Christian and gay. I'm closer to God after I knew that I'm gay.
We are all created in the image of God and Jesus loves me for the Bible tells me so.

Romans 8:1-2, 38-39
Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
