What kinds of tensions exist between cooks and waitresses or waiters?

I'm considering becoming a chef. I'd appreciate any insight you could give me about this.

Well, I've worked in a kitchen and some waiters are extremely annoying and disrespectful. They act like it's your fault if you made the wrong dish (even though they're the one who called in the order), they rush you to finish and then aren't there to pick it up, etc. Can't say much for the other end. The most irritating thing is when they ask where something is and you never got the order, so you have to make it as fast as you can.... and then when you ring the bell, it takes them forever to come get it! Ugh. Other than that, the line cooks and waiters will often become friends because of how much time they spend together, especially if you're in a kitchen that acts as a family. Hope this helped
