what kinda box should i get for a 15" kicker L7, sealed or ported ?

big ol' slot vent with a thick mdf box...


and when I mean big, I mean big, the 15's sound best with giant vented boxes..

I used to run 4 L7 12's in two huge vented boxes, seriously power hungry speakers.

also a note on these L7's... do not skimp on the amp!

ended up dropping the kickers, went to powerbass 15's
cheaper, louder and surprisingly durable
 
if you want the really low notes.. tune a ported box for lower freqs. if you want better sound.. go with a sealed box,
 
All of my friends tat have the L7 all have sealed boxes, but they have roughly 3.5Cu Ft (Ft3) of airspace inside. The ultimate decision is up to you. Also I believe the L7 was designed for a ported box. If youre making a box, you should start with a sealed, just because of how easy it is to make as opposed to a ported box.
