what kind of T-mobile phone should I get for texting and talk only?

I really like the blackberry but I dont want data plan ( internet ). should I get it anyway, do I really need to purchase the data plan for the phone. I am buying a phone without a plan. What other phone should I look into like I said I only need it for text and calls. I like the blackberry since it has a keyboard. please dont recommend me a sidekick, dont like it
