What kind of oil do I put in the crank/transmission case of my 2004 Yamaha Blaster?

I drained the oil and after reading the manual, i'm a little worried about putting anything else in the transmission case than what's recommended. I read someone saying something about using regular car ATF and that it works great but I only read that one persons recommendation.

What do you guys use for yours? I'm looking for something safe to use at Aid Auto or Auto Zone.

Isn't there something I can use that I can get local?
 
HELLO; I got to tell you youve got a 2cyl, motor theres no oil in the crank case, but there is in the tranmission, now if you will look on a search I thing youll find YAMAHA recommends 30wt., and i change mine in my banshee every 3 months or more if I ride a lot, it keeps it clean and lubes the gears well, do not use ATF, its not heavy enough for your gears, and youll have premature wear in your transmission. GOOD LUCK....GREASY.
