What kind of lawyer would?

Last night about 8pm my son-in-law was just getting home from work. His a manager of a locate store. Well his pulling into his driveway when some kids take a gun and loaded it with bee bees and shot at his windshield. Police were called and they believe they have the person that shot at him. They plan to press charges. What kind of lawyer would they need to sue this guy with? He could have killed my son-in-law and cause my daughter to be widowed and their kids fatherless. Worse it was his birthday yesterday!
No it wasn't a prank or anything. It damaged their car really bad. And they have to replace their windshield now. They were kids playing with a gun. I hate it for them but their parents shouldn't leave a gun were they can get it.
It wasn't a bb gun, it was a gun that was loaded with bb's. A real gun. The police said that's what they did. It put 11 holes into the windsheild.
 
Hmm...unfortunately I don't know the answer to this question. However, are you sure it wasn't a friend of his or something pulling a prank? You know seeing how it was his birthday and everything?
