fixed my car...it cost me 1100 and its still having the same problem.
Hellen, I cant take the car back because I cant drive the car there...and for me to tow it will cost me and arm and a leg. He initally came to my home to diagnose the problem and he fixed my car on the spot..He said if there was any problems he'd come back and now hes avoiding my calls.

Why do people always jump to the conclusion that they have to sue people right away? Why don't you just take it back to the mechanic and tell him that it's not fixed? Unless he's a total crook he will care that he fixed the wrong thing.

Problem is, mechanics don't get paid to 'fix problems'. They get paid to perform certain work. Sometimes, they diagnose incorrectly, and therefore make the wrong suggestion for remedying it. It happens. Unless you can show he was knowingly or negligently wrong in his repair recommendation, you could be SOL.

The first thing you'll need is a written opinion from another qualified mechanic that the repair made was inappropriate. 2 would be even better. Once you have that, you need to go to Small Claims Court.

For that amount, you should consider small claims court. The cost to hire an attorney will be greater than any recovery.

Find out what is the problem. Have it fixed. Determine if the mechanic did something wrong. If he did, that will be your evidence.

You need to go to small claims court. You don't need to waste money on a lawyer over a $1,100 bill. The lawyer will cost you more than that.

First contact the Bureau of Automotive Repair, the regulatory agency for mechanics.
