Offroading? I went last year in my buddys dakota and it was a blast but anyways... I want to buy a jeep like some of his friends have for offroading but what kind of jeep do you suggest? Also what do you suggest for lift and suspension etc too? I wanna take it down trails too..I dont want to buy brand new either.. I already know it will be a standard and 4x4 thanks

A used Jeep Rubicon is one of the best factory 4x4's that you can buy. It really drives all 4 wheels instead of the typical 4x4 that people buy now that has open differentials at both ends and only drive one wheel in the front and one wheel in the back. The jeep Rubicon uses air lockers to lock up the differentials. At the very least buy a jeep that at least has some type of limited slip differential at the rear end.

Super high lifts on jeeps are not good for real off road travel, these types of high lifts are for posing and will only get you in trouble in rough terrain. The Rubicon doesn't need any modification to get you into some of the roughest areas that you can imagine. Next time you see a super high lift, check under the vehicle and see how radical the drive shaft angle is. It will cause major binding problems as well as probably only engaged one time and was binding so bad that they never engaged it again due to the angle. Its been my observation that most of the radical ones don't even have a front drive shaft because they've done the job wrong and the drive shaft has caused bad binding and it has been removed. I have never seen a super high lift in some of the very radical areas that we go into, mainly because they can't make the extreme angles of huge boulder hopping that we do.
