What kind of free program can I use to edit photography pictures of nature and scenery?

I recommend GIMP. It is available as a free download from GIMP.org and comparable to Photoshop in many ways.

However, it's important that you realize that although you can do plenty of creative things with image editing program, they should never be used as a substitute for good photography.

You will get much farther by learning photography itself well and using an image editing program as an occasional aid than depending on image editing to give you good images.

You can imitate good photography, but it is no where near the benefit of doing it all naturally and taking good photos.

PHOTOSCAPE. Download Photoscape, I promise you will like it. It's free, and my favorite part are the "Film Effects". That pretty much turns your regular digital photo into a photo that looks like it came out of a film camera. It lets you experiment differnent types of films without actually needing to buy the camera or the film. They also offer an array of effects, like the vintage looking effects. I downloaded this program like half a year ago, and I gotta say I'm ADDICTED. It turns out BEAUTIFUL.

Go to google and type in Photofiltre it work really great for me and it's free. I use it with all of my photography. you can edit the saturation and contrast and add frames and such it's a really great program once you figure out how to use it and it's a very simple program to learn.

The first question is why do you think you need to do anything to your images?

If they are composed the way you want them and you expose them properly, you will not need to do anything else to them.

Maybe you will have to resize some so you can post them on some sites, but not all. If you do,remember to save the new images as a different name so you do not overwrite your original.

I have been told that GIMP is a good free one
