What kind of fish is this?

I have 3 aquariums in my house, so I'm pretty familiar with fish. I just received this fish from someone who couldn't care for it anymore. I dont know if I should put it in my tropical tank or my goldfish tank. I really am not sure what it is.

I was told that it's at least 3 years old. It's about 4-5 inches long.

thanks for the help, because after looking at different barbs, I know that's what it is, so I'll keep it in my tropical tank.

Since barbs are schooling fish, will it start to hang out with my tiger barbs? Or should i get some more of it's own kind?

most barbs are nippy so be careful

Looks to me more like a snakeskin barb, but not if it's 5 inches:
