what kind of engine should i put in my 85 chevy silverodo?

I'm gona lift it and make it my play/ work/ daily get around truck. I want some power but nothing to crazy because of gas now days.
 
I,d drop in a duramax from a junk yard...If your gonna do a conversion do a diesel.The price of diesel is cheaper than gas and the duramax engine will out last the gas...Plus you,ll have tons of tourqe and will not have to worry about smog ever!!!
 
I had lifted trucks and you need a good motor o turn the bigger heavier tires. I had a 350 SBC Fresh rebuild on the short block just a light port job on the heads with a stock rebuild with a RV cam Edelbrock Performer Cam/Carb Stock exhaust manifolds 2 1/2 Straight exhaust through glass packs out the rear and that was plenty of motor I had a 84 suburban 8 inches of lift 33x12.5x15 cheap package for light play and plenty of power for the street
