Depending upon if it's semi formal or not. Ask some teachers or something and if its semi formal i'd get something classy like a short (not too short though) dress from JC pennys 
its middle school so I doubt it'll be prom fancy. but if it's casual try a skirt and tank top with a jacket. ^_^ jc pennys has some dresses for about 35$ and forever 21 has cheap ones too

its a middle school dance. don't wear a dress. wear like a mini and leggings and no shirt.

Try something white and sparkly, windsor.com usually has some pretty good stuff, happy shopping
