what kind of book bag/backpack do you use for middle school?

I just got an Aeropostale tote bag for christmas and before i got that i'd been using just some different totes and backpacks. I hope my new bag will hold all of my books...and since i'll already be carrying that bag should i take my purse too or should i just put my wallet and stuff in the bag? what would you do?

I don't see the point of carrying around a purse at school. If you need money, bring your wallet. Put your phone in your pocket, and get a makeup back that you can store in your school bag.
Totes seem to be the fad, so if you like them, then that's fine. I always carry around the heavy books outside of my back so I have more room for other, more important things, or keep the books in my locker until before the class I need it for.
I'm in high school, but I'm pretty sure the same applies for middle school.

use the back pack as a book bag. and carry a purse separately carrying around a book bag is just a hassle
