I have a GT40 kit car that uses the engine and drive train from a 2001 ford focus. I'm currently replacing the wiring and in the process I disconnected the ECM and noticed that one of the pins was rusted and broke off when I disconnected it. Now I have to get another ECM but I'm not sure what if anything will need to be reprogrammed. Please help!!!...
I understand the replacement ECM must have the same numbers on the top row of the data plate. True?
I also understand that the security key will need to be reprogrammed which can be done by turning the ignition on for 15 mintues and then off again then on for 15 then off again three times. I'm told this will cause the computer to learn the key chip. True?
What if any other issues will I have to resolve?
